Hi. Has anyone fitted our hosts Special Speedo 92546 STD-MPH as advertised in offers section.Did it work how inacurate ect. Thanks

Mr H tests the speedos to (I think,) 10% accuracy and rejects them if not. So it'll be at least that! There is another black face one for an extra £10 which is accurate, why not try that?

I found the Indian look alike Smiths Chrono model, in km/h, very accurate, even trembles a bit like a real chrono. Cheers TrevorCH

Humph a chrono doesn't tremble it clicks like the precision piece of clockwork it is. Magnetic speedos are always going to be inaccurate across the range. You can set them to be accurate at a useful speed say 50 mph but the rest of the range will only be as accurate as the hairspring tension on the needle. They are crude but cheap. As soon as the spring weakens or the bearings get dry or dusty the accuracy will drop. Still they are all that is available today so my rant stop now. Sorry everyone.

Just bought a 1950's Smiths Chronometric with an original140 kilometre dial on NZ's version of Ebay. Needs a bit of work but will go nicely on my next project whatever it is.

Like to go with Marks idea but would need to change ammeter and fit warning lights, so still thinking. Thanks for your imput guys. terry
