Hello O' Wise Ones,
...BIKE: STD (Classic) 350 98.... Problem, L/H Brake Peddle is Too Low, It Use to Live 1/2 way up the Primary Case Now it ends up low down, Viz Ok, Adjusted Brakes, Ok, Pulled Leaver up abit...All works Wonderfully...But a Day Later the Peddle Is Very Low Bottom of Primary Case...

This One Certainly caught Me Out and My Only Conclusion is that The Brake Peddle is slowly Bending Down?,,,, Bikes up to the 35 thou mark and Has been in daily Use.....
And yes The Leaver is at all Stops.......

Thats a new one. Maybe the thread at the adjuster end is worn? You tighten it up but under strong pedal pressure the adjuster nut slips back? More likely than the pedal lever itself bending IMHO Cheers Trevorch

Or perhaps the splines on the brake arm on the brake plate have gone?

Yes Its A New One On Me too, Hence the Only Conclusion that the Whole Lots Bending (with Age).
I will Do a Rear End Overall soon & Maybe Some Thing will Turn Up....Cheers All & Thanks

I'd be inclined to think it's one of the above suggestions, I can't imagine the pedal itself is deforming without it being noticeable.

Have you tried sitting on the bike and pressing the pedal down whilst someone watches all the moving parts? This may help to identify what and where exactly the problem lies.

Is the brake return spring coiled around the lever pivot bush on the brake backplate intact? It is position 34 on Page 17 of the 1996 350 Bullet Export on-line Parts List. It should have a small eye which fits over the uppermost one of the cam bush bolts (position 31). Mine (91 500) gives quite a healthy return force at the pedal itself. Otherwise, is the cam sticking in the cam bush? In that case a strip and grease would be recommended but succesful application of penetrating oil might confirm the problem.

Solved It !...Classic Brake Peddle..

The Brake Peddle Has an Arm on It which Operates The Rod & Has a Few Holes In It For Brake Light Adjustment.. This arm where Welded Has "Sheared" and Only the Pressure Of the Pivot Bolt was Holding it to geather... It Still braked reasonable Well too ;0).......
So New Brake Arm Complete to Be Found (In Shed? some ware)...
