now let me see, tools, aa cards all what a biker needs, can't wait untill I can use my bullet when it has actually made it past the front gate, you see all problems have an alter ego, tools equal being on the open road OR still trying to get out on the road in the first place, count your chickens if you are out and about at least you have the hind sight of"if only I hade a multi use combination spanner in my tool kit"

I have a breakdown card and most of the basic toolkit supplied with the bike plus a few useful extras such as a tail lamp bulb but this thread reminded me of a friend who used to turn up every year on our annual pilgrimage to the Isle of Man with a select "toolkit" consisting mainly I think of stuff he'd put out of the way on the bike seat while rummaging for something else in the shed. The best ever was the year he turned up with nothing but a four pound lump hammer. For the chancers out there, I would say that there are still plenty of places in this country where there is no mobile signal, and mobile phones can get flat batteries. You would feel a bit silly if you had an easy to fix problem but not even a basic toolkit with you and ended up having to walk to civilisation. The real problem is though, is that you never know what you'll need till you break down and find that of course it's the one thing you haven't got with you.
