Pete F The reason we chop trees down to produce Magazines is that a lot of people prefer them. And we don't chop down any old trees, but one's planted as a crop. Just like wheat etc. Any way it's consumption that drives the economy and by the way I really like your flexi cover mod.

It was interesting to read some members had problems with Footman James. I joined REOC last year as I thought I might get a better deal, but their best quote was quite a bit more then my current ones. The magazine is a fairly enjoyable read six times a year but I'm not sure its worth the money to me at its current cost. Before the normal people start bitching, I would say its a personal opinion, if it suits you, I'm pleased.

Those that think that books are bad and reading on the computer is saving the planet must be labouring under the illusion that their computer runs on hot air and is made out of recycled milk cartons.

Hi guys---- yes, I'd binned it !! (unintentionally, of course). My thoughts are thus }---a)Separation...What's the point ??? This smacks of elitism to me. Commandos, Bonnevilles, Morris 1000, etc. all come within this same "problem" ie the original model now being made by others but the same name continued. Hang on a sec.---given the quantity of Indian bikes now on the road v Redditch ones then the Gun may well become an "Indian" biased mag. with an odd-bod Redditch item tucked away in amongst the ads !!.....b)Mag v On-line ?? If the server "farms" were powered by zero-carbon emissions electricity (eg Hydro- or wind generated) then there might be a case to dispense with the mag. altogether BUT... any printed matter is a ONCE-ONLY power consumer that can be read & re-read to infinity ie its' carbon footprint---- which has to include the delivery by post --- can be "off-set" in a sense the more you read it ( by comparison to on-line which consumes power--no matter how small individually---each time you use it). The fact that I'm in receipt of a Royal Mail pension has absolutely NO bearing on me at all !!---- Honest )........ENFIELD ED }--- Yes, my thoughts entirely.... GRUNDA 12 }---- might just do that. Be a good ride-out.

I dont wish to be pedantic - but what catagory does your bike fit in if you have a Redditch bike with Indian bits in it?? or... an Indian bike with an English crank...??

What is it with car and bike clubs? I'm not a member of REOC, but here I read about it dividing between British and Indian bikes, in MGOC the new F and TF's were frowned upon, in the Mazda MX5 club only MX5 mark 1's were "the real thing", and in Land Rover circles if it doesn't have a separate chassis, it isn't a real Land Rover. God, we can be so boring, and instead of sharing our enjoyment of particular machines, we just get bogged down in "mine is better than yours" - moan over! :)
