Hi guys,
Just received a package deal of H01 and H02 Mitas front and rear tyres, with tubes and rim tapes.
The supplied rear tube is a 325 / 350 / 410 as i'd have ordered seperately, (for both)
The supplied front however is a 275 / 300, now I know we're only talking quarter of an inch but what are peoples thoughts on using this, for example the loading when running is low but when braking can increase quite a bit and colour me ever so slightly paranoid but I had a tube split on an old Z650 I had which it transpired when removing the tyre, was far too small, (to be fair i had no idea how old the tube was, if used previousy on another tyre, blah blah

So opinions and experience welcome please.

Cheers,

Mike

Been mulling it over.
I've ordered another 325/350/410 online which i'll use, meanwhile, i'll request a swap for the smaller one for one of the correct size, I wanted to keep one as a spare anyway so would rather do this than use one too small and be forever worrying every ride.

Hello matey !!--------seems like you now have your own question & answer forum all rolled into one !! Must be that pure, Scottish air ?? As you've found, tubes tend to have a broad fitting spectrum in relation to the size of tyre they are suitable for. I would have suggested almost the same }--ie sending the "smaller" back in exchange for another of the 3.25/3.50/4.00 type but what you're doing is even better. Might I ask where you got this good "deal" from ?? as my Bullet No1 will need a set come the Winter.

Yes you may, :)

Hopefully not stepping on toes as I know our hosts do a range of tyres for the Bullet but not the Mitas so fingers crossed they won't mind, if it's a problem forum mods then please address accordingly.
The set deal is from (all the W's) cwylde (dotcodotuk) - It comprises a H01, (325-19), a H02, (350-19), two tubes and two rim tapes and is just over £90 delivered.
They are, (i think) in leeds, 0113?, so if you're closer you could save the delivery cost, though its only £7ish

Vintagetyres(dotcom) are as cheap for the tyres but on the 3 occassions I almost ordered either one or the other of the Mitas tyres were out of stock, and i'd have ordered the tubes and tapes from my regular source to make the price about equivalent, annoyingly they called me yesterday to say they had both in stock after their thurs delivery (just after i'd ordered from cwylde on the wednesday)
So either or is as good for tyre price but the package deal is cheaper than the lot from V-tyres would be, (though to be fair they use Michelin tubes which are pricier)

The tyres look pretty good too, nice reasonably squidgy looking rubber, (Mitas own two other brands also, one being Continentals agricultural division, interesting)
Will get some pics up in a while.

------------sorry to have put you on the spot like that !! I keep forgetting to bear in mind our hosts point-of-view. Anyway, if they prove to be popular maybe they'll get some in ( Does that sound familliar ? RAF ??). We used Barum tyres on our grass and speedway bikes "only a few years ago"-----------------oh yeah!! Thanks for the info and will look them up--------------
