Having changed the mains and big end bearings on my 350 classic, I am on the verge of the first startup. Obviously I will fill it with oil (2.5 litres 20/50 OK?, but I am reluctant to just kick it over, thinking of all those "dry" components.
There is a bit of oil in the combustion chamber from fitting the barrel, and I thought to put a bit in through the tappet cover to oil the cams, cogs and oil pump spindle.
What else to do? Kick it over a few times to get the oil up into the head?
