Hi, I have a sidecar attached , ,this made no difference to the flash rate untill i fitted a bleeper into the system using the original flasher ,now they flash too fast,any info on this? I,m not too technically minded so SIMPLE PLEASE,Thanks in advance. Bob Hazlehurst,

Hi Bob. Any chance of telling us where about or what wire (colour & position) you have taken for the power to the bleeper?. I have a feeling you might have connected the bleeper in series rather than in parallel or putting it another way from the live output of the flasher unit feeding the handlebar dipswitch and then down to ground. By the way, the bleeper unit should be taking a tiny current if it's a modern device and will not load the flasher unit hardly at all. I await some more feedback from you.

Clarification to above: "I have a feeling you might have connected the bleeper in series rather than in parallel.....the correct method is in parallel which would be to connect one bleeper wire from the live output of the flasher unit that feeds the handlebar dipswitch and the other wire down to ground/earth. (frame part)

OHH Jeeezz!...not dipswitch....turn signal switch!!!!...might get it right in about 20 attempts......

Hi, Was it the Hitchcocks 39 pound unit? If you followed the instructions correctly, it should not change the flash rate, but you have to be careful to connect it to the correct side of the flasher lamp, both left and right. If you did it by guessing, then there is only a 25% chance to get it right. If it was not Hitchcocks kit then I cannot offer any more help than Les H. Cheers TrevorCH

Hi,Thanks for info ,have checked
bleeper wires ,2 red ,each of which are connected to right and left indicators, 1 black to earth, each red is to pos side of bulb ,black to a good earth, Sorry but I forgot to mention earlier the rate of flash only increases with engine speed,not sure if this was obvious, thanks Bob.

Try lower wattage globes, I think the extra load is probably heating the bimetal strip too quickly

I have a 75 decibel beeper on my Bullet, I can`t hear it until I switch off the engine, because I wear ear plugs.

Norm: with thermal flasher units, it's normally the lower loads that cause a higher flash rate....remember what usually happens when one bulb blows...the other working bulb starts to flash very quickly......there was a thread on this about a month ago and someone said the flasher unit on the Bullet was electronic and was not affected by the bulb load. I'm not sure if roberto has still got the problem now?
