I want to fit a classic type steering damper to my sportsman. Has anyone done this to there enfield, if so how did you do it.

Johnny, that's a good question. And one I'd like to know the answer to as well. I think my reply will bring your question to the top of the queue and maybe someone out who hasn't seen it before can assist.
My 1996 500cc Classic is tame and has a self-assured step, except if I let go of the bars whilst deccelerating, the it immediately starts a wag which within a couple of seconds builds into a killer headwag.

BTW the sight guage you showed is already fitted to my bullet, its a Hitchcocks petrol filter, but I far prefer your version and will fit as soon I get the go-ahead to start bending after my lower back surgery (the surgeon said "no more bikes" but I plan to ride a bullet through Africa in 2 years).
Cheers, ChrisD from Cape Town
BTW seen your lower engine frame bars. Not my scene but they look rad, well-done, keep inventing!

Johnny, if it's just for look just find a nice old damper handle and fit it.
