The footpegs can also be adjusted of course, if they are grounding then either they are set very low or the suspension is shot. If neither of those, then maybe its time to eat less pies.

I didn't know they were adjustable. I'll have a closer look and see what can be done. I don't think the suspension is shot -- it seems to behave itself most of the time.

I am UK citizen in India with a 14 year old 500 classic ( bought in madras new )
I have fitted a 18 inch rear wheel and use Dunlop trail max tyres ( from UK ) They are brilliant. good on road and off road.

yes the standard footpegs are adjustable.

However I bought a set of folding pegs years back and am still scratching my head how to fit them... Its not straight forward by any means.

Any body had any joy with fitting them?

Funny how the latest always seems the best but I remember, in the 1970s, my mate following me on with me on my A10 with square profile SMs being amazed how I got so fast around the mountain section of the TT seemingly on the 'corners' of the tyres - I was very proud. Strange how we managed with such 'inferior' materials? ;)

well looks like i,m just in time to enter the arena ,i have a pair of ensign trials tyres on my bullet diesel and i got a speeding ticket last year exiting a roundabout on the A5 at a fair lick and i,ll tell you this these tyres are superb ,i,ve just lengthened my footpegs and brake pedal pad ,one to stop the kickstart sticking in my ankle and the other so i don,t burn my leg on the semi hi level exhaust that i have just created ,as for scraping pegs or stand my riding style must be too sedate ,although i did nearly scrape the helectra down the road the other week on a roundabout with an oil slick on it!!the helectra has avon road burners fitted atb paul.
