Despite changing the gasket twice and using a sealant on the second occasion i have a drip of oil leaking from this area. It's always dripped from new so i'm wondering whether the cover is slightly warped ? Any ideas what to do please?

Are you sure it's coming from the cover gasket? It could be leaking from the oil seal behind the clutch running down the back of the case and collecting at the lowest point i.e the cover gasket.

Or from the inner case/crankcase joint. If it is the outer case that's leaking, the finish on the jointing surface is pretty crap and benefits from a but of emery paper. Get rid of any scratches across the face - scratches running round the case don't matter so much.

Yeah Martin, I'm afraid that it may not be as simple as a warped primary cover - although of course you need to check it.
Mine looked like it was leaking (from new) from the bottom of the primary cover, which we changed to no avail.
After many investigations, which went on after the warranty expired, it was found that a sealed (capped) bearing from the gearbox/clutch assembly was leaking and dripping round down to the lowest point of the primary cover. Once stripped down and fixed it has been OK.
Another leak was traced to the oil pump cover gasket which again was allowing oil film down to the bottom of the crankcases - making it look like the leak was from there. Again, once replaced it has been fine.
I suugest a good clean down and discussion with the dealer who supplied the bike would progress this for you?
All the best.

If its not dripping too much to cost you and does not mess up where you park it, leave it untill it gets worse, after all "all British bikes leak".

Thanks for all the replies. The bike was actually supplied by our hosts. It had been bought new by them from Watsonian Squire to use as a test bed for modified parts. When it was no longer required it was offered for sale through this website having only covered delivery miles. It's possible therefore that any of the possible causes of the leak could apply as it's always leaked from there as i said in my original post.
