Simon I guess you are talking about Madan Motors, they seem to be bit quiet of late but they were using several names in an attempt to sting people. They are not the only ones doing this but they all seem to come up with bikes dated in the early sixties and all are 500's

Google Madan Motors. Then make your own mind up if you would buy from them.

Hi SAB --------- might I add my support to those comments re}----WALK AWAY !!!!! Can you put the actual advert on this forum for us to have a look-see, please?? There are lots of similarities (often quoted) about looking for/owning your motorbike (your pride & joy, after all) and "The Ladies" in a blokes life. In this case breaking-up might hurt a bit, especially as the description seems just what you are looking for, but later on ---when the right one comes along---you'll wonder what all the fuss was about. Sod being PC-- it's an age-old truth. PS If SAB is actually a Mem-SAB then apply as appropiate. I'd tell my daughter just the same !!So there---- Have a nice day.

Well, I think you've all helped me make my mind up. Shame, as it looks a nice bike from the photos! However, there is something not quite right. I suspect the current owner is innocent, but it was bought from a dealer (F2 Motorcycles Ltd) who may well have imported from someone like Madan Motors - I too have read about them! The ad was actually taken down yesterday so I can't give you the link. I had an email saying it was removed by mistake, and the bike is still for sale. But I've asked some further questions (and for the original wording to be emailed to me) and haven't heard anything yet.

So, I'm back to the drawing board. If anyone has a genuine British 350 or 500 Bullet with correct documentation for sale please let me know!

Interesting! F2 Motorcycles have a good reputation, they used to be Royal Enfield dealers but I don't think they are anymore. You didn't say where the advert was originally posted, it is not impossible that the attribution to F2 as the previous sellers is wrong, to be polite! Anything in a picture and it's description can be faked, never part with money if you can't see what you're buying! There are a lot of hooky Indian 500s floating about both here and in some other European countries; I'm not bothered about originality either but if fraud is used to register "fake" bikes the law abiding will eventually suffer the consequences when the Authorities realise what's going on, that's why the REOC as holder of the original Factory Records, tries very hard to keep a lid on these things for all our benefit!

The advert was a private classified ad on preloved.co.uk
