nice 1 alan ,just rebuilding the diesel as i,ve thrashed it to death the flywheel main bearing has let go not causing any other damage though (the only bearing made in japan)the rest of chinese origin either a faulty bearing or the flywheel is out of balance anyway i,ve just put a quality SKF bearing in and lets see if i can thrash it to death in another 2500 miles all the best paul.

I think those old 1950's engines only rev to 2600.
They are low horsepower, the bell housing is way too big and you would probably have to turn down the flywheel. No good for a bike.

Chinese engines have a habit of falling apart. Hatz, Ruggerini - lombardini, I wouldn't look at anything else.

Hi guys----------- it's only an Enfield H02 powered generating set, NOT REALLY an ideal piece of kit for converting to a bike. However, it would be good for a medium-sized cruiser on the river and NO WATER COOLING required either.

hi ian ,the chinese engine is a copy of the l100 yanmar a power plant that is excellent for plant i bought the engine for £300 brand new call it an experiment, the hatz engine is very good although they arnt as easy to work on (injector pump) ruggerini had a lot to do with these when they first appeared over here not top of my list also the lombardini the same having worked in plant for the last 25 years i feel i,m experienced to comment but i love these diesel conversions i did 110 miles on mine through derbyshire & nottinghamshire so i appologise to all for the racket i caused all the best paul.

When Harry the Vegi Bike man was here, from memory he told me his bike was fitted with a Yanmar clone(Chinese) but after a couple of bearing failures he replaced it with a genuine Yanmar and has had no trouble since

2,500 miles to an engine rebuild, that is better than a standard Enfield engine can do.
