Ah, was the vibration there before? No idea, as the rear sprocket was so knackered that I made the alterations before I rode it. The previous owner, actually a very pleasant chap, didn't mention any mods and I'm fairly sure he didn't actually do much to the bike while he had it, as no worn parts had been replaced (apart from the indicators, with some cruddy, self-destructing aftermarket items). It had the dirtiest air filter I've ever seen, pitted points, neoprene seal in oil pump worm goosed, etc, yet seemed to run surprisingly well. As mentioned, this is in general the best-performing Bullet I've had. The vibration doesn't happen on the overrun either except occasionally when the clutch is pulled in (very briefly and again only in second gear). I shall probably take the advice to run and monitor it for now. Regards, Wanted-to-retire-since-I-left-school-but-not-too-long-to-go-now-Howard. Now off to bed, up early tomorrow!

I wonder if you have an after market hi comp piston of an inappropriate weight? If so and it's going well you can probably just drive appropriately.
