Hi Alan R and all,

I believe the hydraulic design still has pushrods, the hydraulic lifter replacing the old tappet adjustment. The removable plate with a single center bolt on the old design now has a cover secured by 4 set screws and looks like it requires to be oil tight under pressure (Maybe this is in effect a pressurised tank surrounding the hydraulic lifters.) I think the rockers are much the same as the old design. There is a provision hat replaces the decompressor lever that operates when the engine has started dependent on RPM. You no longer need an ammeter to prepare for a kick start and though I mostly use the electric start, on the few occasions I have used the kick start, it never bites back. I will pursue looking/listening to another EFI prior to going back to my dealer. As you say, the main comfort is the 2 year warranty and the fact that I accumulate KM quite quickly, being retired.
Cheers Trevor
