My New Ride (Machismo) Came With a MRF:Nylogrip - Plus Rear & a Ribbed Front.
Not too Bad in the wet, or Dry...Slightly Blocky in Corners (Better Than SMs)...
Not as good (or Close) to My favourite TT100's?

So beeing poor two Question's...Any one run MRF's in Winter & Ice?? "What are they like"

Or Mixed TT100's rear with ribbed front??

Lastly...They are Not too Bad as is Just a Bit Twitchy on corners.

Thanks for any thoughts...Cheers Craig

Hi GRAIG--- not had any experience myself but for others have a look at this }---http://www.mrftyres.com/Products/Produc ... spx?pid=11 ---- Was this a "Home market" purchase ??.. ie Direct from India as European spec machines tend to have Avon or Dunlops fitted from new ?? Unless you intend to do Ice Speedway then no normal tyre has any grip on either ice or oil(usually in the form of spilt diesel fuel). Any idea what prices are being asked ?? From the look of them and your handling reports I think they are on a par with MITAS or MAXXIS (Cheng Shin) perhaps ?? Keep us posted please ??

Hi Craig. Independent of which tyre you use, when faced with ice and snow, let some air out of the rear tyre so as to make as much contact with the surface as possible for maximum grip and drive, and wear boots with sturdy soles to drag alongside your bike. Despite their weight, these bullets perform admirably well in the snow, even up quite steep hills. It might be something to do with their heavy flywheels.

Yes It is a "Home Market Model" (I Like em' better Than official imports).... And "I Have Ridden Straight through the Last 19 winters snow & all..On TT100s Tyers (No real Probs) & Yes The Enfield (Me Std 350 Classic) in Particular is Very good On Snow & Ice what with its Low Down Torque,Rev's & thump!......
Back to My Present ride AVL/Machismo.. just Checked them wheels again and Argh Front Ribbed is a Cheing Yen? & rear an MDF etc... JustPumped them up to 33 PSI each and its transformed the ride Very Nice Much better than a SM (70's Jap or Barum Mz) But Not as good as the TT100's... I sapose that Only time will tell How good they are But They Dont seem too Bad (Money Permitting Iwould change) ..More woried Now I have found a Cheng Yen whatever!!....... So Up To Now Much better than a SM...
INFO Provide For them Brave souls who Follow Afterwards.... "Cheers All" And thanks for the Input...

Discovered black ice on my OE in England in the 80's. Heading down North Hill Road in Minehead in Somerset the bike dropped out from underneath me like a pair of underpants with failed elastic. My feet were flat on the ground and skidded down the hill as I repeated hauled the bike (1952 M16S AJS)up to the appropriate position all the time planning my long recovery in intensive care. Finally the tires caught and the ride was back on in time for the hairpin bend. I parked the bike in the workshop I had with a friend in town at the bottom of the hill and didn't ride again until late spring. Since then I ride in warmer climes and definitely not in snow or ice!

Hi GUYS --------- Black Ice !!!----don't you just love it ??? plus the everyday equivalent = Spilt Diesel fuel !! It's my most cherished desire that EVERY LICENCE HOLDER in this country should have at least one days' attendance at a skid-pan centre, and a visit should be made part of ANY driver training. Surely it's not safe OR sensible that a persons first ever experience of skidding out of control is during an ordinary, everyday drive with the kids, friends etc, etc. Sorry CRAIG--almost a thread Hi-Jacking.
