Hi does any one know how to wire up a branson power box for a 1960 Connie. It has a Mag so this would be for lighting horn stop light. I would like to wire it up so that the amp meeter works. I'm just about to order a new wiring loom from our hosts so I will let you know how I get on. The Bodgers rewired it so I have had to strip all the old wiring/power-box as there was a switch for this and a switch for that and the side lights never went off and the lighting switch did all sorts of strange things so hence starting again from scratch.
Will give you an update as and when thanks alan

Al, the powerbox is simple to wire up black to neg, red to pos and 2 yellows to 2 alt wires.Running it through the ameter, never had a lot of joy, give motor a rev and lights brighten is good enough for me, but somebody else may help with that side.

I am assuming you are using the standard positive earth Alan? From what I can see on the 1960 wiring diagram…….. Just feed the Negative O/P (Black) from the power box onto the Purple wire that goes to the Ignition Switch (T2) that used to go to the O/P on the rectifier……... As you will have (or need to) summed together the O/P’s from the alternator by joining the Green/Yellow and Dark/Green wires together to maximise the alternators O/P and fed this to the PowerBox on one of it’s Yellow wires and the alternator Light Green separately to the PowerBox’s other Yellow, you will not require all the old boost circuits that was incorporated in the Lighting Switch wiring. These are the Light Green (T7) and Dark Green (T1) on the Lighting Switch and the Green Yellow (T11) on the Ignition switch. These wires will have become redundant so leave off or tape up one end. The ammeter will work as normal.

Thank you Norm and Les H you have being most helpful. It may take some time to get around to do it due to other commitments but when I do I will let you all know how I get on
thanks again Alan

Just spotted you have the MAG cct. So things are very slightly different and requires a re-write....... Just feed the Negative O/P (Black) from the power box onto the Purple wire that goes to the Lighting Switch (T3) that used to go to the O/P on the rectifier.... These are the Light Green (T7) and Dark Green (T1) and the Green Yellow (Screw Pillar terminal) ) on the Lighting Switch These wires will have become redundant so leave off or tape up one end. The ammeter will work as normal.
