Hi, Slightly confused here about which grade of oil to use on a 92 enfield bullet i have looked in the workshop manual which states 20/40. The user manual states 10/30 which ever one is right would semy-synthetic be o/k.Also has anybody had trouble making the chaincase oiltight using the 10 ft/ilbs torque setting for the centre bolt

You can use whatever oil you have handy in it. It's not critical. A lot like Automatic Transmission Fluid which is designed for clutch packs.

Overtightening causes problems but the O ring forms a perfectly good seal normally, there is no pressure as such.

Many & vatied opinions with many inc Hitchcock recommending ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid). Me I use 15w fork oil in both forks and primary drive. Only need to stock 2 oils that way.

I've never used a torque wrench on the chain case fastening, just spannered it up reasonably tight.

Although the rubber gasket can be re-used quite a few times it will have to be replaced sooner or later. The one time mine was about knackered I did not have a replacement in stock so smeared the joint & gasket with red snot.
