In a recent thread about "Why do we ride Enfields", Riggers remarked that it would be nice to arrange a day when people could meet and admire, and talk about their bikes.

Well On 27th May I have my twice annual NadMike Gathering for Classic bikes and hopefully Classic Riders.

The event takes place at The Bulls Head (I bet you never guessed that is a pub) on the A47 approximately 4 miles north of Mallory Park in Leicestershire. The Bulls Head serves good beer, and coffee, and has a menu to cove everything fron a sandwich to large staeks and also a Sunday Carvery. The food is very good.

Start is 11:00am when the pub opens and the event finishes when the last rider andbike goes home. That's me. This is not a "bikers" pub but Alan the landlord is very accomodating towards me and my old bike passion.

There is no concourse, no competition, no posing. Just good honest chat and admiration of, hopefully, some fine bikes.

I make the rules and a year or two ago decided that Hinckley Bonnevilles and Enfields, regardless of country of origin or age, constituted being Classics.

So anybody who can make the event please come and join us. Make yourself known to MadMike, and to each other. If you inhabit Real Classic then you might meet The Detroyer, Al O'Newbie and some other strange characters.

Oh yes if it helps then please do not be afraid to bring your wives.

Sounds good, but too far north for me.

For anyone else in the south don't forget Sammy Millers Royal Enfield Open Day on 22nd April in the New Forest.

No need to be a member of anything, just turn up and enjoy a wonderful motorcycle museum in a great location .

Google sammy miller for more details and location etc.

Great idea Mike. Sadly I won't be joining you as doing a weekend in North Yorkshire on that date. Wishing the event every success!
