Hi all,


 I am contemplating purchasing  PowerBox from our hosts and was looking at the wiring on my bullet.  There are 4 wires coming out of the alternator and only two input wires on the PowerBox, can anyone tell me how they are wired?

I assume the powerbox inputs are the two wires normally feeding the regulator/rectifier. The other two A/C wires feeding the lights are unaffected.


Someone else here also recently described how to fit a Honda regulator which is worth reading.

      I went through this a few months ago and it was discussed here in detail but I forgot to write down the end result. I will see if I can find the posts, but from memory Red positive, black negative, then I think 2 purples to one of the yellows and yellow / orange to the other yellow

    No instructions and my problem was I was fitting it to a pos earth bike and I got different answers from Hitch and Boyer I went with Boyers answer and with a lot of help from Les H finally got it sorted. In the end it was very simple and I have a nice fully charged battey in my Inter. Nothing worse than electronic ignition and a flat battery at night, rode home several times with no lights

Hello Norm, matey !! Is it good morning over there ?? I'm just banging out a few replies before bed. Have been watching the Melbourne F1 GP highlights. What a lovely looking city !!    So, been out on another of your night-time test runs eh ??  Yes, I fitted a Boyer Power box on the 65 (really missing that one ) and it never let me down . Speaking of Les H, not heard from him lately. Probally putting in the odd 1000 miles or so, just for the hell of it.

     You only see the better parts of the city, I live about 40ks from the track,It's the same track Stirling Moss used to race around back in the fifties. Had a few upgrades since then, it's a good track and it is a public road for the rest of the year so you get to see all those corners, but it is patroled well and you have to keep your speed a little lower than the F1's It's 1.30pm here som pat your bedtime

Hi matey--- there's a joke doing the rounds here at the moment regarding the athletics events in the London Olympics. As the stadium is near known "rough" areas the runners will have difficulty telling the starters gun from all the background shootings etc.  Stirling Moss eh ??? There's a name to conjour with. As a kid my favourite toy was a Vanwall with that distinctive high tail and in BRG colours. Magic.

 So from what has been said I am thinking there are two sets of coils in the alternator, one set normally goes through the regulator / rectifier and charges the battery and the other set powers the lighting with AC.


So I therefore parallel the coils into the AC inputs on the power box and take the positive and negative out onto the battery. And the bike is then totally DC.


 Or am I missing something!

Sorry Z---went a bit off-piste there for a moment, eh ? On my Bullet 65 a few years ago ( With the AC/DC electrics ) as mentioned I fitted a Boyer power box. All it does is to replace the Indian made seperate rectifier & regulator units. The electrics themselves were not altered. If you want to convert to what I would term "normal" wiring ie the lights etc run from the battery with the generator charging the battery according to demand---then as Norm indicated, Les H did an article just before Christmas I think (or early New Year ?)  worth a trawl back to re-read it. It's a mod I certainly want to do ASAP. A night, waiting at traffic lights or a junction underneath those Sodium lights it's as if mine have gone out---so little output at idling. V dangerous !!!
