Hello Cath -------- well, well, North "Debon" and a bike called Stan. A quick story for you }-------------I joined the Royal Navy as an Apprentice Marine Engineer in Sept. 1965 at HMS Fisgard, Torpoint, Cornwall. At week-ends I would ride down to the ferry, cross to Plymouth and continue over to Brixham where my Mum's elder brother, Uncle Stan & Autie Betty lived. In his day he was a very keen biker, putting in big miles and rode all sorts but the favourite was a 1954 BSA B33 500cc single (OYK 773 or "oik," as he called it )-----BSA's equivalent of our Bullets. He was a Radio & Television engineer having run 2 shops in Brixham and Torquay for many years. In retirement he built his own computers and we kept in touch via E-mail. I went down there not so long ago on my modern Triumph 3-cyl. Thunderbird which he really enjoyed being shown over--- but declined a pillion ride. He passed away last year aged 90. The spragg clutch?? Wel you've actually used the Chennai factory's motto }---------- ignorance is bliss. And to finish off with your recent ride-out and to feely mis-quote Shakespear }--" Now, is the winter of our discontent made glorious Summer by this son of ---Redditch (?)" Seems to work, don't you think ??
