Hi

Just a thought might need to take a pilion on my RE bullet electa which I have on loan

I'm 16 stone and the wife is about 10 , hows the bullet cope 2 up ( it won't be a long journey probably 50 miles )

I've had around 30 stone on my Bullet many times when Hilary is on the pillion with full riding gear being worn. Although I found the spokes kept breaking untill I got the wheel rebuilt with some new SS spokes, but if your loan bike is fairly new they might be ok. Steep hills might cause some 2nd and 3rd gear slow downs but you'll get up them I managed to get up Porlock hill in 2nd OK.

Me & the wife = 29st in kit I guess, was amazed at how well it handled 2 up when I got it !, she doesn't get on it now mind, regards it as cripplingly uncomfortable after 45-60 mins !

Me & 'er with riding kit about 22 stone at a guess plus throw-overs, rack loaded fairly high and tankbag. Upped the rear suspension preload a couple of notches from softest and it stopped shaking its head. Happiness for the next 3500 miles

Forgot to add for Ian J - Ian, our Bullet has standard dual seat where my wife sat quite happily for the 3500 miles of a 6 weeks ride with a stack of stuff on the rack to lean on and a old towel to cover the throwover straps............. After lunch at a diner in upstate new York a couple of HD riders could not believe my wife's answer to their questioning her assurance that she was quite comfortable on the pillion - "after nearly 3000 miles I should know" ..........One chap pointing to the big King & Queen seats on his HD said "see those seats, after 25 miles my wife is bitching like hell!"
