Thanks Paul for putting the EFI owners point of view across/ In my opinion, an Enfield is an Enfield regardless of the spec and origin. I feel privileged to ride and socialise with all Enfield owners. It does annoy me though when owners of older bikes slag off EFI's without riding them. My viewpoint is, perhaps, unusual. I have a long history of owning over 50 Brit and foreign bikes including a very fast Velocette Venom and, despite being able to afford most new machines on the market, I chose an EFI Woodsman. After two very happy (and reliable) years and about 16,000 miles, I was seduced by a 'modern' retro - a Kawasaki W800. I took this to the Manx Grand Prix last year, came back and swapped it for another Woodsman! I'm sure that the Kawasaki was 'better' in most respects, but it didn't have the fantastic character of the Enfield. W800's, Hinkley Bonnies and Guzzi V7's are all fine machines (and yes I have ridden all of them) but they don't have that indefinable character of a long stroke single that is possessed by all Bullets, regardless of how old they are and where they came from! End of rant - happy and safe riding everyone, let's hope spring is coming!
