Hi DURHAM TIM--You are not too far from my neck of the woods and the run to Hawes is one of my favourites too. (via Buttertubs)
I have a 1955 350 bullet in fine fettle. Just the job for a relaxing plod on a warm Summers day.
On the 350 performance- I have flowed the head to improve the mid range revs, patiently jetted the monobloc to suit, (ended up a lot different to standard), and a free flowing silencer and he positively chomps at the bit at 50 to 65 mph. I must add that I do not mistreat the old boy. My intention was to help him breathe better to be more flexible when needed.
Decending down hill with the throttle shut through narrow Whitby streets is a sound to behold.

speaking as a lorry driver for the last 30 years,i miss the days when my Daf artic used to cruise along at 75 mph..and i still had the Irish lads coming by me in their Scania 141's and 143's.nowadays,my company has us on tracker,so i'm upsetting the motorists by crawling along single carriageways at 40 mph.as Beezabryan says,we can't seem to please anyone!

Hi guys--------BO_HOO !!-- You've got me crying in my pint of Auld Peculiar..I was an HGV Technician on the Royal Mail and carried an HGV Class 1 for some 20 years......So, just for old-times sake, here's something we can all relate to .. Sit back, take your glass of favourite tipple, go FULL SCREEN, listen-out for that 2-stroke DEE-TROIT DIESEL, and take a trip down "memory lane" with this }------------ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSLoZzJ-7kc ----------
