What Paul says. If you want you can use ATF Type F in the primary and forks, I do on my Mk1 and think the primary in particular benefits but others see no improvement. I also use a Hypoid gear oil in the gearbox, the Mk1 has a bushed mainshaft sleeve which can be troublesome, and for that reason I'd use something more modern. An alternative would be multigrade with a dash of Molyslip or similar friction reducer. Whatever you do, do not use monograde in the engine! There is a group for Interceptors, https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/RE_Interceptor/info You will have to apply for membership as it is a closed group and this usually takes a few days. Got any pictures?

There is an interesting article on oils here It's all about Norton Commandos but the technology is similar to the Interceptor, or a Bullet even.

I was going to mention Jim Comstock's test results, but you beat me to it!

Generally, any flat-tappet (i.e. not roller tappet) engines need higher levels of ZDDP than most modern oils contain.

Most of the oils he mentions are not available in the UK. Castrol Classic comes up well though so that's what I have kust got for next oil change.
