Here we see that the Indian 350 Bullet has a total capacity of 2.25 litres (1 litre is very approx 1 US Quart, 2.25 litres is approx 4 Imp Pints). But note many oil jugs are marked in litres and US Quarts, not imperial pints.
This quantity is fine if you have totally and utterly drained and cleaned out the motor, as you might with a re-build. But the motor retains oil on draining, so if you put that much in on a filter change, you over-fill.
I did not say withdraw 500ml and discard it. I said with withdraw some oil and refill to the mark.
Having had a Redditch 350 Bullet, albeit a long time ago, I am still familiar with its ability to discharge oil on a regular basis and how to top it up.
