Hi guys------------in fairness to the carb. ti did start/idle/run OK when first fitted recently-----it's just a very strong reluctance to re-start that's the problem. Have a look at this}------- ---------------------

Hi grunda, Still use the catch pot as a "separator" but disconnected the timing case pipe from it and left it as a vent at high level as I believe in engine breathing in and out but that's just the Engineer in me. Ran new vent from catch pot to vent on to ground and I find very little disscharge - maybe I'm just lucky. Have not changed the venting to the oil reservoir but may do if/when I have the engine down (have a new conrod/big end ready for when it goes, sooner or later). Other mods include lightly ported head, 'S' cams, velocity stack on carb, right side gear change, including cam plate change which has done wonders for the rear brake which now has a straight rod as the left brake operating lever is longer and carries the rod higher over the pillion rests and is also closer to the line of the swinging arm and therefore not affected by the suspension movement.
Next stage, like you will be the 535 barrel which I have waiting to be fitted when I finally decide to and get the time.
John.

Forgot to mention the 20 tooth sprocket, unrestricted exhaust and goldie silencer, powerbox, our hosts TCI, reve counter and many other tweeks - as you do. Had it off the speedo and varified by a cycle speedo I have fitted. I really do think I have a good one!

Hi Guys--- Yes, have fully removed and packed the Mk1 for return this Friday ---- I'm taking a run over there by car (have a petrol tank to be checked out ----- The Mikcarb is going back on tomorrow in time for some charity rides etc this week-end BUT, more importantly--- I can get back to some Paying jobs that had to be sidelined whilst this was sorted...The pancake is only just fitted on( more by luck than judgement--- I'm re-fitting the "Tea Caddy" eventually (better proof against rain and my washing bucket !!)--- Don't those vid. cameras mahe the bikes sound more rattly than they actually are ??
