kh, your bike had the very early breather arrangement where the path is through the drive side crank shaft and then through the outer primary cover to a breather boss on the underneath of the outer cover. If you have the cover off the oil that is sitting there will inevitably drip into the case, it can't go anywhere else. Once assembled the oil should pass through the cover and exit the bike as planned. And that's the problem, this breather is a very poor design and will drip/breathe whatever you do. Have you had it running properly yet? One thing that is important to breathing on all Bullets is to not overfill the oil tank, you need the level to be about half way up the dipstick. You won't have marks on yours if original but it should be easy to guess.
