Hello there, first time poster.
I need help with picking out the 612 kit. I have a 96 Indian made Royal Enfield Bullet and I bought while I was working in India and have now brought it back with me to the states. Of course with my luck and Indian build quality, on my first drive to the DMV, I'm pretty sure I over sped it(I have a 15" rear tyre) and now I get a great knocking noise in the engine. This has happened once before after a full rebuild so I'm pretty sure it's the bearing for the rod/crank. Now I'm planning on rebuilding the engine myself and I would like to go with the 612 kit. Will I need anything special, it has been very modified: I had them install a new 5 speed gearbox, but had them machine it to keep right hand shift. Also what gearing do you suggest so I can drive this at 80-90 mph without over reving the engine again? Has anyone personally installed the 612 kit? I have rebuilt car engines before so I wonder how much more difficult this will be. And lastly, is it worth the price? I love my Bullet, but after bringing it to the States, I realize how slow it is. I want to be able to take this out on the highways here and not be forced off the road. If I can post imgs on here, I'll drop a pic of it. Cheers.
