before anybody says weve had this before ,i,m going to ask again ,i already know what i,m going to do so heres the conundrum,on stripping the electra that could have bankrupted a small eastern european nation the crankcases were gasket sealent only no gasket i presume this was done at the factory as this motor had never been stripped before the sealent was a type of grey rubber ,now i,m from the old school who use paper gaskets with a smear of grease,proper gaskets being available i intend to use them but i wonder why the indians used sealent instead of a gasket?the casing faces are very good so i can,t under stand this ,if no gasket was available i could live with sealed cases as with all jappers i,ve ever worked on ,but i like a gasket ,can anybody shed light on this conundrum?atb paul.
