Once filled my ancient Volvo with diesel by mistake, drained most of it, put in petrol and after a few miles it was running better than ever it had since I owned it, I reckon the only way I could explain it was that the thicker mix pulled all the gunge out of the carb and the oil worked like redex on the cylinder head. Few drops of diesel in your petrol aren't going to do much harm to a cooking engine.

Paul as you know I am an acknowledged expert on giving excellent but free advice, on subjects as diverse as the phases of the moon, the Mayan prophesy of the end of the world on 21st December 2012 and the use or otherwise of diesel fuel with or without a left hand/foot gearchange. It is not generally recognised that all of the problems or maladies reffered to above as well as the financial crisis gripping the banking system, the Euro and the world in general can be solved very expeditiously and in a manner which is in harmony with life itself. Eight pints of Old Original in The Bulls Head, the venue for MadMikes Gathering to which you will all be invited in the New Year, will resolve all of these issues and many more. I understand Paul that you started on the path to Old Original enlightenment at the last Gathering so will fully appreciate the palliative nature of the said golden fluid. You just need more practise and a strong constitution. Shall i book you in for the night before like last year?

The dilution would be utterly insignificant IMHO unlike the poor old Bradford (Jowett flat twin) van I had as a youth that had its tank pissed in by a member of a rival group at a church hall dance one night. It kept going with the choke pulled fully out and eventually the offending foreign liquid passed through its second system with no damage done.
