Hi fellas, after becoming enamoured with the bullet whilst backpacking around India, 4 years ago I bought a rough 1991 350 off an auction site. I had the wheels rebuilt and rims powder coated and then life got in the way and the poor old bike got forgotten until recently.
Now I want to sort it out and get riding!
My question is where do I start to recomission the bike?!
I have the workshop manual and have just bought the Pete Snidal book too. I have tools and a reasonable but basic mechanical knowledge
I'm after a safe and relatively reliable ride in oily rag condition rather than a show bike so aesthetics are definitely secondary.

Rather a difficult question to answer without more information. If everything is present and assembled and it was running before you got it, I'd change the oil, put some fresh petrol in, check the battery (probably gone west after this time) check points, plug and tappets and see if the engine starts. If not find out why not and fix. Once the engine runs, check over the tyres, check all bolts are tight, check gearbox and chaincase oil, check brakes and see if it rides (gently on a quiet road - preferable private) This will give you a fair idea of what else needs doing.

The bike is fully assembled, if loose in places, and was running when I bought it.
