Hi all, recently acquired 2 gearbox casings and been told they're Albion. I'm more of a Burman man myself but think they may be Enfield- related. Any clues would be greatly appreciated
One is stamped R RAW 933
Other has H 141531
Cheers

Usually, most Albions have an extra small lever operated by the heel of the rider to select neutral when coming to a stop. Other more knowledgeable replies will soon appear.

Can’t find those codes but they may be pre-war. Vincent Grey Flash used an Albion 5 speed racing box, pretty sure Norton didn’t. REgards, Mark

Also, Vincent twin used Albion internals but the road singles were Burman. REgards, Mark

Thanks, gents. The entire gearbox story is a tale oc total confusion even within ond manufacturer! Ive also been told the one of them may bd from a Berkeley Sports Car. I didnt even know there was such a thing as a Berkekley Sports Car! Now I want one! Be madness to start a rebuild just from a set of empty gearbox casings!
Or would it.......hmmmmm

I seiously thought about buying a Berkeley a while back. A friend pointed out l didn’t have the space, thankfully! We invited the Berkeley Enthusiasts Club (check their website, good info pages,) to our REOC rally last summer, a good bunch and they do the miles. 2 models, B95 which is Super Meteor power and B105 which is twin carb Connie. All the hard parts are the Berkeley specific stuff, primary drive gearbox etc. I built a Connie from a tank once although the tank turned out to be lnterceptor so l did one of those too!
