[Chucklebus]

Hi, can anyone tell me the original paint code/colour of a 1961 Crusader Sports.
It is a maroon/burgundy colour.

RS Motorbike Paint have it listed on their site, have a look. Their stuff is excellent quality, available in cans and as 2-pack. But not cheap. A DIY match is to Talbot Chrysler Palma d'or (I think it was,) but that's going back aways!

I'm not 100% sure if the Crusader was the same colour but my Super Meteor was polychromatic maroon, when I restored it I found some original paint on the tank beneath the later brush applied oil paint and a close match is Ford pepper red mica, a couple of years later I was talking to an ex Enfield worker and asked if he thought the colour was correct, his answer "the colour varied from day to day depending on who mixed the paint, who did the spraying and how thick it was applied, yours is as close as you can get" the polychromatic maroon was applied with a gold base coat and then had a semi transparent coloured lacquer applied.
