Ref Berties Battery: Hmmmm; me wonders. I've never really been able to set Rudyards tickover, despite several carb strips/cleans. As the bike is fitted with a Eureka ign system, and the battery is probably eight years old, could it be possible that at low (slow tickover) revs there just isn't enough juice to keep the sparks coming? Any thoughts?

Connect a voltmeter to the battery while it is ticking over if the voltage is staying above around 12.6 it's not that, but If the voltage is dropping down then it probably needs replacing and may be causing a problem.

Thanks Revband, I'll give that a try. As bike will only tick over for about twenty seconds I'll have to hookup meter first, and perhaps start with a fast idle speed, gradually reducing, and see if engine stops before voltage drops. If you catch my drift.
