Hi all. Especially Mark if there!!. The breather housing from ns crankcase to oil tank should be sealed with part no 45371, but our hosts do not stock it, don't know what it looks like, or have ever sold one. My Connie is now complete but leaking oil slightly from this joint which is metal to metal. Making a gasket around the discs and wall edges will be difficult as there is not much meat there. Any suggestions anyone? Thanks in advance. REgards. Dez

My constellation has a thin metal back plate between the breather body and the crankcase. This is shown on the 'parts books online'. A tiny amount of 'hylomar' or similar liquid gasket may be needed to help this seal.

Dez, I looked for that Part Number and although it exists I can't find it in the 58/59/60 Connie Parts Books. As Rasp says, the breather valve should have a thin metal backplate to operate against. This can dribble in use, I'd recommend removing the floating discs and backplate and making a gasket to seal the housing against the case. I use Welseal as a gasket cement as it is quite tolerant of gaps but this joint is under considerable pressure so you may struggle to seal it. I have started using 3-Bond as a sealant on major joints like the crankcase joints and this works well on joints under stress so it might help? (It is available in the UK from Rex Caunt Racing, sorry H's!)
