Anyone know what imperial threads are on the 3 Primary case studs which hole it against the engine? Not the alternator ones the shorter ones? They have two threads i.e. One on each end?

From what I see in parts book online item44 crankcase stud 5/16 x 26 TPI the dreaded cycle thread.

5/16 x 26 is only the outer thread the thread into the crank case is different, from memory it is 5/16 x 20?.

Well it's odd but the external end of the stud I wanted seems to be 5/16 BSF 22tpi and the other end Cei cycle thread 26 tip so a strange mix?
Not to worry I now have some BSF nuts to hold on my primary case!
Asbo engine 22 nearly ready to go back in the frame.
