Hi, I'm not sure about the correct way the crankcase filter studs should be fitted in my model G
you will probably know if you read this the studs are basically a tube with a cross drilling approx. a third from one end. Common sense tells me the longer 2/3rds should screw into the crankcase, leaving the shorter end with the cross drilling in the centre of the filter?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Mac

Hello Mac, by the "crankcase filter studs" do you mean the "oil plug/filter" ref 24173 in teh parts book online ?
If yes, when fitting them, you have to look carefully at the thickness of the drain plug washer (24178) : the oil plug's radial hole must be on the same level (line) as the crankcase cavity where the oil comes. The best way is to compare the 2 oil levels heights with a gauge or a dial caliper, and then deduct the thickness of your gasket. Do not forget the extra thickness to accomodate the tightening.
Hope it will help you.
