Hi Chaps!

The second issue of the Royal Enfield Magazine is published today.
You can download it as a digital PDF to read and own by visiting this link.
http://www.magcloud.com/browse/issue/402366

HP MagCloud are distributing it so you need to register; it also can be set up so you will be emailed when the next issue is ready.
Our hosts - Hitchcocks - are a sponsor so please check out their page.

Kind regards
Paul.

I know this may be scary to some Enfield owners . . . . but does this involve money ? Having a Bullet usually means an aversion to paying for things ;-) . . . or so I was told.

Hi Wolf,
Nice article of yours BTW in issue 2.

There is a token cost for the Mag as a digital PDF magazine. I'm using a distributor (HP MagCloud) because people asked for the choice of both a paper digital version and a PDF version that they can collect and cherish. The PDF version is priced at a token amount, not at 'commercial magazine' prices. It contains 3 or 4 times as many pages as the old Bullet-in mag of yore that was more expensive. It's up to 64 pages now. The price of the paper version is quite high but is non profit making; that is what the distributor charges to print. None of that cost contributes to the magazine production. Only a tiny minority will want the paper version I guess, but the service has enabled me to offer it to those that really wanted it on paper.

You don't get rich making a fanzine; It takes me endless hours being reporter, writer, photographer, editor, designer, publisher, advertising seller etc etc, but I enjoy doing it. I'm very proud of the latest issue, its a cracker.

If anyone begrudges the £1.30p ($1.99) per quarterly issue then that's fine. Everyone has their own values and I respect that. Personally I think its a bargain, just the magazine I always wanted when I bought my first Bullet. 4 issues are the size of a book and half the cost.

The subs will contribute a little to expenses, like the almost £600 I just paid out for an upgrade to Adobe Indesign software.

Finally, I don't believe Enfield owners are tight! Just thrifty.

Best of luck . . . let's hope the same number of folks who read issue one will also read issue two - that'll more than pay for your software. Right, I'm off to prize my wallet open, don't actually know what I might find in there . . . but I'll do my best ;-)

How strange LW. Not stuck in a spam folder is it?
I copied it to several contributors inc Mark M of this parish (he of the FAB restoration series) and no failure notices came back.
It was 23MB so may have got stuck in the virtual postmans van?
That's why large files work best using a distributor with big servers I guess.
Next time I'll send it using WeTransfer.com
