Time to sell my lovely little Yamaha MT03 as it hardly gets used, only MOT miles last two years and it’s a shame to leave it sat in my lock-up. I bought it from main dealer Hayballs (Salisbury) in August 2012 and it was their ex demo bike so I am only the second owner. It is now showing 9780 miles on the clock and is in good condition although not perfect as has been used in all weathers when I first had it although only for fun not for commuting and was always washed, dried and protected with ACF50.
It’s the later smoother fuelled, 2009 model, black with white shock spring and matt black fork bottoms, swingarm, etc. Totally standard apart from Fenda extender, tail tidy, lovely Leo Vince end cans (a bit fruity!) and K&N air filter. It comes with standard exhaust, rear mudguard/light and even original air filter if you want it. It will be MOT’s this week and has just had a brand new, high quality O ring replacement chain fitted.
Also included in full asking price is a two tooth smaller rear sprocket (makes a difference if used for longer trips) and a Renntec rear rack which I only fitted for trip around France. It of course comes with original toolkit, hand book, spare keys (including the red master key) and all MOT certs. Tyres are Pirelli Diablo , front has done just under 4k, rear not yet 2k, both have plenty of tread left and grip suits the bike well. Brake pads have plenty left in them and last oil and filter change was August 2013 although only 1600 miles since so oil in perfect condition, it also had a new spark plug at the same time.
As you can see from the above it's unlikely that the new owner will need to spend anything on the bike, apart from tax & insurance, for at least 3 or 4 thousand miles and even then it will only likely be oil & filter + tyres.
The MT03 was the precursor for the MT07 and 09 and is very underrated, for sure it won’t do much over 100mph but the low gearing and lovely torquey motor really tugs you up to 80mph+, the handling is great on the back roads and the brakes haul it’s light weight up really well. It is also A2 licence compliant (although I’m guessing the Leo Vince & K&N technically lift it just over the 48bhp limit) and very easy to ride with decent lock, wide bars and forgiving nature. I love it but kept it last two years despite hardly riding it and with a few other bikes to choose from, it makes no sense doing the same for another year, my loss is your gain!
I would urge viewing as I really don't think you would be disappointed, it's a genuine bike, in great condition with nothing needed for the next few thousand miles. I am a totally honest, down the line seller who would like to see any new owner 100% happy, I have loved owning this bike and am sure so will the next owner.
PM me for further details and piccies or if you would like to view. I will be advertising it locally and on the forum for a few weeks while I’m in and out on various bike trips and then onto fleabay. Go on, grab yourself a real fun bike at a great price - £2750 ono
