Winter Break

Tornado (and Kevin) have the winter off this year, and wrap up warm.

However... Other bikes have not been so lucky!

Is your bike hibernating, or is it a work bike? out in all weathers?

Well,,,,,,,,,, the Harley is hibernating at the moment, mainly because the roads of rural Mayenne are covered in mud (and worse) at this time of year and I can't be arsed to clean it every time it ventures out so normally reserved for longer distance and/or two up rides in warmer weather. The Transalp is out every week unless it snows, I don't mind it getting filthy but don't want to be picking it up out of ditches. The Enfield is a fairly new addition and will probably be used mainly for shorter runs in decent weather (it's that cleaning thing again!) but was out yesterday just because I'd fitted new bars and a screen and wanted to get everything set "just right".

My wife and I are going camping at the end of this month. Hopefully it won't be the minus 10C it was at the same rally a few years ago.

Well; Thunderbolt was out on Boxing Day (as some know) and again last Friday when it was cold but fairly dry. When it's wet and horrible then I ride one of the CGs. The CGT isn't exactly hibernating, but I don't feel any urge to ride it when its cold, wet and potentially slippery. It's far better to wait until it's warmer and dryer when riding it will be fun rather than an appointment with stress.

No snow here yet, but I really ought to drain out that 40 weight mono-grade oil and refill with something runnier until the spring... A.

I'm finding mine so much fun to ride at the moment that my 6yr old winter hack has yet to see the light of day.
