A Proud War Record.

This has come up before, but this time I have scanned my own copy of the above, beautiful book that RE put out after the second world war.

A damn fine testament to Royal Enfield and their staff. Not an easy volume to find and too good to miss, so I thought it would be nice to do a good scan and PDF and share it with you.

Hey Scalyback, that looks like one triffic bit of history, I’ll download and read the whole thing later, thanks for taking the trouble to scan and post it. I couldn’t help idly wondering how many of those tubular crates got converted into maybe climbing frames or animal pens by the grateful population of France, I wonder if any survive ‘somewhere in France’? Some guys, i think in the USA, have had problems with the file. Apparently, the site asks them to sign up.



You are all free to upload this pdf to forums, your own sites, etc. The whole point is that as a piece of RE heritage, which the company proudly gave away with compliments, this should be available to all without having to fork out a shed load of dosh for it!



If there is another place I could upload it, to make it easier for the USA guys, please let me know, thanks!

Wow! I know I posted this to other forums as well, but in just a few days it has spread!



As of tonight, 571 downloads. I feel very happy that so many of us have now been able to experience this marvellous book!



I feel that it has been worth the time and effort and you are all welcome. Never will it be hidden away again!

Not quite on topic but a mate of mine has a lovely 26" BSA folding bicycle with its original canvas bag which was for paratroopers apparently. The pedals are just rods sticking out of the cranks obviously designed for flying boots.
