Hi folks, I'm rather delighted with myself! A tear in Tinkers seat has been getting worse with the passage of time, and buying a new seat is a bit pricey. I looked into re-covering the seat, but realized it was probably a bit too skilled for a DIY job. So, whilst dutifully following my nearest and dearest around the drapery dept. of a large local store I spied a pair of leather elbow patches, as worn by scholarly pipe smokers way back when. I stuck one over the rip with UHU contact adhesive, more in hope than with any real confidence, thinking I couldn't make it look much worse. However, you have to look hard to see the repair, which cost less than a fiver for glue and patches. (I'd send a pic but haven't fathomed how to get them from phone to new computer yet.) (That could be a winter project.)
