G'd evenin' all, Just wondering if anyone has done away with the standard air filter by simply removing the rubber connecting tube from triangular housing/toolbox to tea caddy. Obviously the carb would need re-jetting. I thought this might have the same effect as fitting a bellmouth, but leave the electrics less on view.

I had considered something like that myself a while ago but ended up fitting a conical air filter and found a cover for the electrics. All available from our hosts...

An alternative is to fit the circular S&B filter that is a straight replacement for the original but with much less restriction.
They are a bit expensive but they are washable so should last.
