there is a coating of oily mud everywhere on the inside, it cleans off easily though.

Classic signs of piston blowby, probably caused by worn rings and bore. It also looks as if the oil hasn't been changed that regularly, and that's not unusual too!

Thank you. It only has 22000 miles on it, I hope it's just the rings and perhaps a hone rather then a piston and bore..I'll make an appointment with the honda guru for measurement. And with the triumph guru for a magdyno pinion extractor, before i destroy the poor thing.

Given the amount of cag on the piston, it needs throwing away not cleaning, unless you wish to measure the piston to see how much it is worn, and or how oval it is.
