On a previous Post I mentioned that my Sixty 5s dual seat digs into my thighs when feet down ( A mate across the road who tried it had the same problem. Silly question how does the front of a single seat fasten as frustratingly none of the seats advertised show the underneath I assume it fits to the 'n'bracket which our hosts sell as part number 200084. Mine is fitted as standard has the hole in the top but minus the side to side hole.Thing is my 'n' bracket is used as a channel for a fair amount of wiring .I could probably get a bolt in to go up through the bracket and out the top hole and if tight it would be ok but side to side would be a problem. I dont want to end up rubbing a hole in the wiring insulation I would rather try another dual seat. If anyone could post a picture or two of the underneath of of a single seat and front mounting I would be grateful I am happy how the back fixes I just dont want to buy a seat I have to rewire the bike to fit (joking).

Grumps are you saying the wiring loom goes through the inside of the hoop, I have only seen that once on an Indian rebuild. If they got the connectors through there they can be taken back out and then you will have to drill holes in each side to mount the single seat

Thats it Norm yes it does!I was wondering if being electric start made a difference ie more wires to go somewhere I will have to try posting a picture later. I must admit I thought why did they do that!I suppose someones logic was it protects the cable but makes fitting a single seat iffy! Thanks for taking the time to answer

Hi Grumpy My 65 Spotsman was exactly the same the loom went though the seat fixing bracket. I looked into removing it and it was possible but you will need to remove all the plastic terminal blocks first that's not too difficult just need a small screw driver to bend the little tags in on the terminal fack side and pull out wires from rear one by one from blocks. Take loads of photos of each and notes so you know witch wire goes where. Once removed you can free harness then put blocks back on in time gives you chance to clean all terminals and zip tie cable harness to top of frame it took me about 3 to 4 hours to do including electric start cables.

Paul, they have to come out somehow the factory buys in full looms and just fit them they wouldn't sit there assembling bikes and then start fitting the connectors to the loom, or would they? Grumps, one way would be to carefully cut the top of the hoop out, remove the loom and drill the holes to fit the seat and put a sleve for the bolt to go through between the 2 uprights. Round the tops off bit of paint and nobody will notice

Norm and Grumps, that's exactly what I did on my Sixty5, but only after trying very carefully to drill through without touching the loom. I Found out I wasn't successful when I turned ignition key and the main fuse blew! I had rubbed through the red and yellow main live cable. After that repair, I cut top off bracket and made up a tubular spacer and bolted seat bracket on. I also cut out the seat bracket holes so that it could be lifted and re fitted without removing the bolt. Grumps, if you want to se what I did, you can look when you pick up the parts.

That would be good Nettshubby thanks and thanks to every one for their advice. As I want comfort rather than looks I may just keep my eye out for a slimmer line dual seat I believe Corbin do one? is any one out there riding an older bullet does the seat dig in the same or is the 65 seat different ie the round bit were you bum goes wider as my first bullet I have nothing to compare it with!
