If anybody has time to spare and wants a good read, Mark is riding from Aus back to the UK and he writes a good story with plenty of pics. Sure he isn't riding his Enfield, we talked him out of that so he shipped that back to the UK, but worth a look

Great travel story, but make sure you start at the bottom, it's upside down! Don't suppose there's a way to flip it?

Just a little snippet from Mark as he travels around the world, today he is in Murmansk in the Arctic Circle, I think he achieved what he wanted to I think there is only water and ice if he heads any further north,so I guess he will now double back and head for the UK. The Kawasaki has not missed a beat and a lot of the conditions he has ridden through have been pretty bad but he has been impressed with Russia and the hospitality there.

The bike clocked 50,000 km today. Not a massive achievement given the longevity of modern motorcycles and engines, however it’s still worthy of note. This particular model was designed over 20 years ago and remains unchanged.

My other bike is a Royal Enfield, made as a copy of a 1950s commuter. Made in India that is, by Indians using machinery left behind from the days of the Raj. It was knackered back then, which is why it got left there! Add to that poor quality local metals and you can see why they’re a source of great frustration to many!

Given that the average distance to terminal failure for a brand new Enfield in Australia was 8000km (As recorded by the owners club for 11 new bikes), you can see why I’m impressed at 50,000 from the big kwak.

Anyway, she’s still banging along nicely!
