Alan, I feel I have to say that Exmouth and South Devon is where the hoards of grockles head for. To see the Real Devon you have to come to the north of the county, ie north of the A361. Unfortunately this area does n't seem to appear of any known map of England, certainly not so far as the bbc and the meeja are concerned. Also when you're down this way, do be sure to come to the all day bikers meet at the log cabin diner at Knowstone (on the 361) on any wednesday. There is always loadsa old brit bikes, the odd Can-Hardly Davidson and an Enfield or two and if there is an oil slick on the road my Triumph is probably just ahead of it!

Hi guys----------- Ah, North Devon and the Atlantic Coast Highway !! A few years ago Joyce and I spent a week based on a farm down there and had taken our two Mobylette mopeds.....We rode over to Crackington Haven when, after descending the steep hill and crossing a hump backed bridge, Joyce went onto the small, pebbled beach---------- and promptly fell off !!...........and guess who just had his camera to hand ??--------------- ---------------------------- Another year we toured Cornwall and Devon on our Triumph 900 Thunderbird and I took her to Padstow to see the "'obby 'orse" ------------- or to be strictly accurate }-- the TWO Hobby Horses ( Red and Blue )........As the horse drew near I intended to "Help" Joyce get caught and taken under the skirts, but she was too quick for me and dodged out of it !!!! ........... ............................................................................ I'll be in touch via this forum to give you the dates...Would like to go to that bike meet you mentioned..........

Crackington Haven??By Chance ended up there in the 80's on a 78 Bonnine Then a CB650..Then a Stag Do in a Mini Van..Camped in that Field bt the Public Toilets £1 a Night..Is That E-Boat Reck Still There??..Was allways a welcomeing Place Back then though Some of the Hotels you Could booze at Closed & it Just Left the One Pub...Must Enfield Me way there again One Day but its a Long way From Notts..."Happy daze" ;0) Craig
