I've just returned from a great time at the Classic TT on my EFI Woodsman. It was absolutely great to be able to cheer on an Enfield and to see Ian Lougher take a fine fourth place in the 500 race. He averaged an incredible 106.7 m.p.h. over four laps and the bike sounded great. Admittedly, the Bullet is a highly modified racer, but, all the same, it was a great achievement!

Highly modified is right. Not much of the Bullet left on that... It Does have "Royal Enfield" painted on the tank though and a few Bullet stickers... Nice machine.

Hi John,

Ditto John - I returned from the Classic TT yesterday!
Had an enjoyable couple of laps of the course on my 612. Pity we didn't hook up! Wasn't it an amazing event? Some jaw-dropping machinery there, and such an atmosphere. I spoke to Steve Lindsell (creator of that machine) and tried to get some info out of him. Amongst the things I asked him was the shape of the combustion chamber. His answer was "if I told you, I would have to kill you"! (Although he said it's still hemi-spherical). It makes at least 50bhp at the rear wheel - almost on par with a Manx or G50, as Ian Lougher's lap times would suggest. The crankcases are apparently 53 years old!
