Sorry but I'm unable to post a reply but can post a new topic so this will probably be my last post but as you have had 38 views and nobody has replied I will. I have done a number of these conversions and they can be a pain in the butt particularly with the new outer cover fouling on the neutral finder because the hole isn't quite in the right spot and requires filing out at around the one o 'clock area. You have to remove the primary cases to remove the linkages and there are 2 studs (from memory lower gearbox studs that have to be removed to allow the crossover shaft to be removed. I think you then require spacers to to take up the space or get 2 new lower gearbox studs.Sorry I'm doing this from memory at least 6 months since I did the last one.If the new shaft fits ok in the old bush in the gearbox end cover I would leave it just fit the new 46 (foot operator shaft with lever) and when you fit this you then need to fit the new 83 (gear indicator) Never tried leaving the original 46 and 83 as a pair, I think it should work, but don't quote me on it Remember the mainshaft bearing nut is a left hand thread. You will also have to remove the 67 66 64 63 62 60 59 selector mechanism to fit the new 69 (f/c lever short (inside) Just try to make sure when you remove the gearbox end cover that you don't pull the gear cluster out with it because it can be a pain to get back in. Hope this helps
