hi one & all ive got the cure for insomnia,its called an electra x ,i have been up very early this week working on grunda 13 in the garage ,yesterday i got my crank back with mr h new big end fitted i was in the garage until 12pm rebuilding and fitting the engine,then i was up again at 2.30am fitting my new amal carb & cables ,only 1 gripe the choke cable is very long even on electra wide bars,mr h,s down pipe is now fitted,as i,ve ditched all the tacky electra switch gear it came time to check for a spark and guess what the steel plug cap gave me a lovely whack so no problems there sidestand interlock switch is junked my restyled inner primary case with with electric start hump removed looks well,although i will not reveal what i used to transform its appearance,the engine ,gearbox ,primary and forks need filling with oil and its start up time although as i have missed my scheduled cut off point i can,t get it m.o.t,d before next year (christmas spoils my bike calendar) any way less of these mad ramblings i,m off to bed ,but before i go i will tell you this !!don,t be afraid of playing with these motors ,my memory is shot and i,ve managed to do the job no spares left in boxes i stored parts in so anyone could do it couldn,t they?atb at christmas time paul.
